The Reclaim Project
Science-based. Connection-focused. Fear-free.
With Dr. Samantha Marsh, PhD
Mission
Our mission is to safeguard developing minds and wellbeing so children thrive in a connected world. We focus on the research and the underlying drivers of screen harms, not just cyber-safety tips, providing the starting point for lasting behaviour change delivered through three flagship talks that bring together parents, students, and teachers.
The offering
Three flagship talks plus an online gaming webinar that can be delivered individually or as the complete Reclaim School Day package, which is designed to engage a holistic ecosystem of stakeholders. The offering includes:
Reclaim Connection (Parents)
Purpose: This session dives into the research into the harms and benefits of social media and how screens affect development. It then introduces The Reclaim Protocol, a three-part, evidence-based map to help families support their kids to thrive, not just survive, in the digital world.
Outcome: Parents confident to delay access to screens and set boundaries without guilt.
Reclaim Your Attention (Students, Years 6–9)
Purpose: Instead of telling students social media is bad, we show how platform design can affect wellbeing and attention in a way that resonates with teens. We expose the tricks behind the scroll and algorithms, helping students think critically and reclaim their focus.
Outcome: Students empowered to resist the scroll and reclaim autonomy.
Reclaim the Classroom (Teachers)
Purpose: This session explains the neuroscience of dopamine depletion from screen overuse, its impact on learning, and practical classroom strategies to reconnect with students and reduce digital distractions.
Outcome: A settled, focused classroom and improved learning outcomes.
Reclaim Reality (Parents; online gaming webinar)
Purpose: Gaming provides young people with a sense of agency, achievement, and social connection. This webinar acknowledges those needs and explores how parents and families can help kids achieve these things in the real-world, through engagement in values-aligned activities and opportunities.
Outcome: Parents confident to set boundaries and support healthier gaming habits.
